PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND
Proposed date: 08 – 16 September 2020
Expected package price from - £1,750.00 per person sharing
‘Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.’ Psalms 122:2
This unforgettable experience, our pilgrimage journey will follow in the footsteps of Jesus in Galilee and Jerusalem. We will stay at the Sea of Galilee for 4-nights; visiting Capernaum, the fishing village which became the centre of Our Lord’s ministry, alongside other places associated with the events of the Gospel including the Mt of Beatitudes, Mt Tabor, Cana & Nazareth. Picture yourself sailing in a boat like the disciples on the Sea of Galilee (“And Jesus said to them, follow me and I will make you become fishers of men” Mark 1:17).
During our 4-nights in Jerusalem, we will retrace Jesus’ footsteps from Bethany to Gethsemane.  We will see our Lord’s birthplace in Bethlehem & have communion at the empty tomb where Jesus rose from the dead (“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay” Matthew 26:6). Enjoy guided visits of Jericho, Ein Karem, Masada and find time for some relaxation at the Dead Sea.
We hope many will want to join on this unique spiritual journey through the lands of the Bible.  By praying together and reading from the Scriptures in the various places where it happened, you will get a closer look at the life of Jesus Christ and His mission of redemption.  At the end of this tour two things will most certainly be changed, you, and your understanding of the Bible!
We very much look forward to making this pilgrim jour

LADIES Group

Picture
45 years to the day of their inauguration, the Devoran Ladies’ Group held their AGM. Many of the members involved in those early days still have an important role in the group. On March 20th 1973 Sara Cox, Rosemary Crocker, Denise Murdoch, Pauline Beech, Phyllis Rowland, Beryl Cainey, Janet Mcbride, and Doris Palarm met to discuss setting up a support group for the young wives of the parish. It has become a fully ecumenical group that makes a point of welcoming newcomers to the area and supporting the Christian ethic. As the group matured the name changed from ‘Young Wives’ to just ‘Wives’ and more recently ‘Devoran Ladies’ so as to be fully inclusive.
During the past year the group met each month on a regular basis. Although weather interfered with two of their events, the poetry evening on a warm summer evening in Rosemary Crocker’s garden was a great success. Before Christmas the ladies visited the house at Trelissick to have coffee and view the decorations. A coffee morning was held in aid of the parish church fabric fund and talks on Gwennap Pit and also fire safety were enjoyed. As usual the ladies supported the church Summer Fete and the Autumn Bazaar. Special birthdays of 2 members were recognised but the group continues to be active in spite of removing ‘young’ from their title.

If you are interested in joining the group or would like more information please contact one of the following members.
